Beetel, Bharti Airtel’s handset-making division unveiled a the cheapest Android-based tablet. It is named as “Magiq” and runs on Android 2.2 (Froyo). It is 3G ready and has all the latest features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Dual Camera, HDMI Port, and Portable Wi-Fi Hotspot. It has 7″ WVGA TFT Touch Screen and Stereo Speakers along with Track Pad and Comfy Stand. You can insert any SIM and make calls and connect to Internet.
The price is three to four times less compared to the recently launched Samsung’s Galaxy and Apple’s iPad as well as Motorola’s Xoom and BlackBerry’s Play-Book which are priced above 25k. Bharti wants to grab the tablet market share with its low-priced Magiq.
Within a week or so, Bharti will start selling these tablets and you can now book through their eStore.
I think this tablet will give a tight competition to the tablets that are already available in the market.

Google has now introduced the facility of posting your RSS feeds directly onto your Twitter account in FeedBurner. You can now say good bye to all your plugins that you used to post your articles onto Twitter. If you are publishing feed through FeedBurner, just log into FeedBurner and add Twitter account. All your post titles will be posted with a shortened URL onto your Twitter account.
What is noticeable in this process is Google’s own URL shortener, GOOG.GL. There is no doubt that Google has introduced its own URL shortener for this facility. It has used a pretty domain, GOO.GL. If you go to the domain http://goo.gl/, you will see just a landing page showing few words about stability, security, and speed of Google’s URL shortener. You don’t find a way to create your own short URLs or an API to include it in your applications. I think Google may be in the process of developing those, but enthusiasts already digged into the Google Toolbar and HTPP headers and developed web applications to create goo.gl shortened URLs.
Read Alexander Gaigalas’ experiment and watch it working here: http://gaigalas.net/lab/googl (post is in Portuguese use http://translate.google.com/ to translate it into English)
Another service I found on the Internet, which is working fine is: http://jsbin.com/idalu3
I just switched from Tweetly Updater WordPress plugin to FeedBurner’s inbuilt feed tweeting. Just take a look at my twitter account to see this in action.

Google has added English to Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, and Bengali dictionaries and vice versa to its Dictionary section. English-to-Hindi dictionary has been available for a long time. Go to http://www.google.com/dictionary and click the drop down menu and hover the mouse on English. It shows available languages menu and from there you can select the language.
If you want to check the English word for one of the above languages, hover your mouse on your language and it opens another right-side menu where you can select Your Language>English. Use the Google Indic Transliteration Tool to type the word in your language phonetically and paste it into the Google Dictionary text box and click “Search Dictionary.”
If you are logged in, you can bookmark the searched words for future reference and also you can hear pronunciation of the English words.

It is really good especially the “Related Phrases” section. Now, I can easily find the exact Telugu meaning for an English word very easily. Thanks Google!

Google SMS Channels is a new product out from the Google India Labs available to only Indians. It lets you create SMS-based communities for free. SMS Channels allows you to create your own channel(s) to publish content that other users can subscribe to. You can also create groups over SMS to communicate with your friends, family, and co-workers.
It is a free service and you can create closed communities to enable messaging between only family members or a group of employees. You can publish your Blogspot blog posts, Google Groups messages, or any RSS/Atom enabled site posts to the channel and allow the visitors to subscribe to it to receive the new posts via SMS. You can also create a channel just for you to receive the Google News over SMS related to a keyword provided by you.
I see endless ideas with this feature. For examples, creating a closed invitation only channel for employees for communicating important messages. Creating channel with only family members to share birthday reminders and wishes, festival wishes, etc. What you say?
Website/blog owners can now offer SMS alerts via this channels. Whenever you post new content, alert will be sent through SMS to the subscribers.
There are already lot of channels pouring in. Subscribe to one of them to see how it works. You may be interested in subscribing to joke channels.
Read the help pages to better understand the options. Give it a try and explore what you can do with Google SMS Channels.

Today is Google’s 10th birthday. Google has grown to the point where without using a Google app, our Internet browsing is not complete. Everybody knowingly or unknowingly will be using a Google product.
We may be using Gmail for our mail needs, Blogger for a blog, Picasa for editing and sharing photos, SketchUp for building 3D models, YouTube for uploading videos, or burning feeds on Feedburner.
Google has acquired a lot of companies and made their premium services free. JotSpot, Feedburner, Writely, etc.
Being a medical transcriptionist and freelance web designer, I cannot expect a day without using Google. My day starts with checking Gmail, using extensively in the office, and ends up with another Google product.
See all the Google products here: http://www.google.com/intl/en/options/

Yesterday, Google released it’s own open source browser called Google Chrome. As today is holiday and got free-time, I have installed the Google Chrome and tested all the features. So, here is my review with screenshots.
Google Chrome’s simple and minimalistic design is really good. It has features same as Firefox along with some other features that aren’t available in other browsers like:
Incognito Mode: In which, the browser does not store any information of the webpages you have browsed in browser history and cookies.

Dynamic Tabs: This is really an interesting option. You can drag any tab from the present window to create a new window or you can drag any window into another window to merge them.

Crash Control: As Google says, every tab runs independently and if a site crashes the browser, only that tab closes and does not affect the other tabs. An interesting mechanism.
Application Shortcuts: Using this feature, you can create shortcuts directly onto your desktop, start menu, or quick launch bar. When you click on the shortcut, it will be opened in Google Chrome.

Today morning, when I saw at the status bar of the Firefox for Adsense statistics, I surprised to see a big amount floating on the status bar. I never got that much. Immediately, I have opened the account to see the statistics and felt sad to see that Adsense Notifier is showing the “Clicks” count as “Earnings.” I felt that Google has updated the script and looked at AN’s homepage, Mincus Code. Allen of Mincus Code posted that he will be updating the script tonight or tomorrow. I setup the extension to show the statistics every one hour and it has become a habit for me to look at the status bar every hour or so.
I am eagerly waiting for the updated version of Adsense Notifier. If you are also fan of Adsense Notifier, start refreshing the AN’s home page to see if it is updated
Update: December 2, 2007: Updated version (0.9.5) has come that is working fine. Download it here: http://code.mincus.com/3/adsense-notifier/
