PayLessDomainsPayLessDomains is a fully accredited domain registrar for Australian domain names. Along with popular TLDs like .com, .net, .org, and .info, you can also register .us, .ca, .co.uk, and .co.nz and many more. Just put the name you want in search field and select the extensions, and it will come up with the available extensions along with suggested available domains. If you are registering more than 10 domains, you can avail the discounted bulk pricing.

I can say from my experience with different domain registrars that PayLessDomains’ easy-to-use interface is the best and easy one after NameCheap. Domain registration charges are starting from $11.95 per year (AUD), which is really good. It also offers cheap web hosting starting from AU$ 6.66/month, which gives you 1 GB storage and 3 GB/per month data transfer.

With every domain, you will get free goodies like email hosting, URL forwarding, and Domain parking. Round-the-clock customer support helps you solve your queries and problems with domain management at anytime.

Yesterday, I have come across this fast and free WhoIs checking software, IDwhois. Before findings this, I was using another free client, which checks only few TLDs like .com, .net, .org, and .info. I use this software to check domain availability across different extensions.

It is too fast and checks nealry 130 gTLDs and ccTLDs. It has checked 500 domains in less than a minute. You can prepare the domains list in text format and upload it when you are ready, and also you can save the results into XML format too.

IDwhois Features :
- More than 130 TLDs to lookup
- Stand alone whois client
- Integrated Parser
- Export results on .HTML, .CSV or .XML for fast reporting
- Import domain name list from a .TXT file
- XML Configuration files to add or modify TLD settings / interfaced
- Multi thread WHOIS lookup
- WHOIS Request timer to avoid registrars/NICs time out
- multi-IP bridge lookup environment (avoid NIC black list)
- Rearrange the information in your whois results
- Tree view result
- Free online support by mail
- Proxy environment

Download it here.

What does “Who Is” mean?
WHOIS is a TCP-based query/response protocol which is widely used for querying a database in order to determine the owner of a domain name, an IP address, or an autonomous system number on the Internet. WHOIS lookups were traditionally made using a command line interface, but a number of simplified web-based tools now exist for looking up domain ownership details from different databases. Web-based WHOIS clients still rely on the WHOIS protocol to connect to a WHOIS server and do lookups, and command-line WHOIS clients are still quite widely used by system administrators. - Wikipedia

YouTube Video Downloader

I have seen a nice and free YouTube video downloader script on Qoogle. Wanted to run this script and create a mini site. So, went to GoDaddy, purchased an info domain for $1.21 (approximately Rs. 60….very cheap), and hosted. Now, my experimental YouTube video downloader site is ready.

Bookmark my mini site http://www.YouTubeVideoDownloader.info/ (very long domain name….I think, but it is easy to remember) by visiting it and pressing Ctrl+D.

SnapNamesA month ago, I have accidentally seen that naveen.info was expired and it was pending for deletion. I surprised to see that because getting Hindu first name is very difficult and almost all names will be registered by someone who wants to sell the domains on Sedo at a premium rate (not less than $500). Then, I have gone through lot of webmasters’ discussion forums to find out which backorder company will help me in getting it. I heard that backordering with SnapNames and Pool.com will work. Further reading told me that the domain was registered with Network Solutions and SnapNames is a priority partner of Network Solutions. So, it is sure that SnapNames can get me the name more than any other backorder company. I placed a bid for $60 (initial bid) two weeks before deletion of the domain. Though it was expired, there are chances that registrant can renew it, but he needs to shell out a lot of money ($80…I think).

Anyway, the original registrant didn’t renew it and no one bid against me and I successfully acquired my favorite domain on March 2, 2007 at 2:00 a.m. (IST). Thank you SnapNames.
