An easy way to export and import MS Word AutoCorrect entries

During my profession as a “Medical Transcriptionist,” it was necessary to have a list of AutoCorrect entries backed up. If the system I was working on fails or moved to a different unit in the office, I had to change the system and creating the AutoCorrect entries manually was a pain and it took another week to have all my entries back. It certainly affected the line count till I get all the entries back especially when I was in “type and upload direct” position (Direct Uploader).

I used a macro called “AutoCorrect Utility” from the Word MVP site, which helped me to keep a copy of all the entries exported into a document. Whenever you need to import all these entries, just click the “Restore” button in the macro dialogue, select the backed up document, and you are done.

Download the macro from this page: https://wordmvp.com/FAQs/Customization/ExportAutocorrect.htm

Note: You need to allow all macros to run in the MS Word macro settings for this to work. In MS Word 2007, go to Menu > Word Options > Trust Center > Trust Center Settings > Macro Settings and choose the “Enable all macros” option.
